The Tourism Company and cultural consultants sam culture recently organised a workshop and training event, called 'Working Together', around the theme of museums and tourism. The one day event, which took place at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard on 8th November 2011, attracted 40 representatives from museums and galleries across Hampshire and the Solent area.
A key part of the day was a series of presentations from museums around the country. These presentations showed first-hand how these museums have gone about getting more tourists through their doors. Also included as part of the day was a presentation from Hampshire County Council's Tourism team highlighting some of the reasons why tourism and museums need to work together.
The event was funded by Renaissance and is part of the Hampshire-Solent Museums Alliance Tourism 2012 project.
Following a number of requests from delegates, we have now made these presentations available online via SlideShare.
