Cycle tourism development on Anglesey

Client: Isle of Anglesey County Council (IACC)
Date: 2013
The Tourism Company worked with Anglesey County Council on three inter-related projects designed to stimulate cycle tourism to the Island. One project involved advising on the nature and content of a leaflet designed to promote the Island’s cycling routes. Another project was concerned with the identification of a network of quiet on-road routes that can then be promoted as a tourism product. The third project involved managing the negotiations which it is hoped will see Anglesey’s longest off-road cycle route (Lon Las Cefni) incorporated into the National Cycle Network.

The work follows on from a strategic assessment that we undertook of all the possible inventions that could be made in relation to cycle tourism development. The aim was to identify those projects and measures that were likely to have most impact.
