The London Ambassadors Scheme

Client: London Development Agency
Date: 2010
We reviewed the London Ambassadors Training Scheme which offered a day's training to Community Wardens, covering destination knowledge and customer care. The aim of the project was to ascertain how the scheme could be taken forward to 2012, expanding its participant base to include employees throughout the capital including the police, train and underground staff, and those working at attractions. The work included a review of the training provision and widespread consultation with current and potential participants. Our report gave recommendations on how the scheme could be developed, particularly through a more flexible approach to delivery of training - such as the use of a train the trainer model - along with suggestions for improved promotion of the Ambassadors.
